A prominent 46-year-old doctor, Gerhardt Konig, was arrested on March 24, 2025, after allegedly attempting to murder his 36-year-old wife, Arielle Konig, at the Pali Lookout in Oahu, Hawaii. Authorities report that Gerhardt attacked his wife, a nuclear engineer, by striking her in the head with a rock and attempting to push her off a hiking trail, leaving her with critical injuries.

According to the police, Arielle claimed that Gerhardt assaulted her with closed fists and a rock before trying to shove her off the cliffside. In a disturbing twist, it is reported that Gerhardt produced two syringes filled with an unknown substance and allegedly attempted to inject Arielle. The attack occurred after Arielle refused to take a photo with her husband, as she told the authorities. Local media revealed that she was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe head and facial injuries.
Gerhardt, an anesthesiologist, fled the scene after the attack but was apprehended after a brief foot chase near the Pali Highway. Honolulu police officers located him shortly after he attempted to escape and took him into custody. They confirmed that charges are pending against Gerhardt Konig for the alleged attempted murder.

The couple, who has been married since 2018, resides in Maui in a luxurious $1.5 million home. They were reportedly visiting the scenic Pali Lookout in Oahu when the incident occurred. Prior to this, Gerhardt was married before and has at least one child.
